Cascade Children's Festival: Supporting Saving Grace

It's summer time and that means festivals in sandals instead of parkas! This year's summer festival lineup is particularly exciting with so many kid-friendly events you'll think you're in, well... Bend, Oregon! There will be events with music and movies in the park, events with food, and events centering on the tikes (and if there's one thing that kids love, it's activities involving them and a bunch of other kids!)

One of those attractions will be the 20th annual Cascade Children's Festival, presented by Saving Grace (formerly COBRA).The festival will be held at Drake Park Saturday, July 19th, from 10am to 4pm. It's a safe bet that your kids will be delighted and entertained by the abundant booths, games, and activities sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Last year's festival included firemen, face painting, prizes, music, and more! Bring the stroller and plan to get informed as you peruse booths hosted by local family friendly businesses, child service agency tables, non-profit kiosks, and much, much more. More than 40 booths will be involved and offer entertainment for the whole family including food, activities, and goodies galore. Tickets for activities will be sold at the festival and food will be flung by monkeys...maybe. That's really just a rumor at this point.

Proceeds from the Cascade Children's Festival will benefit Saving Grace, Central Oregon's only local provider of emergency and prevention services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Working with community support and volunteers, Saving Grace offers counseling, education, advocacy, and shelter for women and children seeking refuge from violence. So far, Saving Grace has offered prevention and intervention programs to 6,000 people per year on average. Now that's a great cause! So support Saving Grace and the most vulnerable in our community and take some time to check out the festival — you won't be disappointed. Just remember to bring SPF 90 and cool drinks for the family!
